Brian McShane

Brian McShane is a Partner and Sector Head at Encompass Capital Advisors LLC, a registered investment advisor specializing in the global energy equity sector and related subsectors, including energy transition, renewables, cyclicals, and industrial companies. He has 20 years of experience in the global energy markets, including 12 years at Encompass, where he is responsible for coverage of traditional energy, clean energy, and energy transition companies. Prior to joining Encompass, Brian was a founding partner and senior energy analyst at HTX Energy Capital Management and was also an energy analyst at Sound Energy Capital, both of which were dedicated energy-focused hedge funds. Brian started his career as a sell-side energy equity analyst for RBC Capital Markets. Brian holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
