Michael Weinstein

Michael Weinstein is the EVP, Head of Corporate Development at Spearmint Energy. Michael is a 25-year veteran of Wall Street banking and fund management roles. He previously served as head of Investor Relations for solar developer SunPower Corporation after leading the equity research team for utilities and alternative energy at Credit Suisse, where he earned a runner-up ranking in the 2019 and 2020 Institutional Investor All-America Alternative Energy team poll. Prior to this, Michael was a portfolio manager at UBS O’Connor and a senior energy analyst at Zimmer Lucas Partners. He began his finance career at Goldman Sachs as an equities analyst in 1997 and joined Allegheny Energy in 2000 as an electric tolling contract originator. Michael is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served in the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Desert Storm. He earned a B.S. in Physics from the United States Naval Academy and an M.A. in National Security Policy from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.
